One of the most interesting elements of the old Altea’s fortress it’s it original road network dated of the 17th century and totally survive. Between their streets we have to outline Salamanca Street. It forms an elegant façade of houses which were built by Altea’s middle class along the second half of the 18th century or beginning of the 19th century. These are houses attached to the walls they belong to and walls also include some of the original guard pass remains.
