Accessible tourism

Altea has demonstrated a firm commitment to accessibility and inclusive tourism, implementing a series of innovative measures to improve the experience of all visitors.

The municipality has developed easy-to-read urban routes and has implemented NaviLens Accessible QR Codes. Audio descriptions of tourist videos have also been made in several languages and information brochures are offered in Braille in Spanish, Valencian and English.

Altea has obtained the Smart Tourist Destination (DTI) certification under the UNE 178501 standard, which includes accessibility as one of its main axes.

These initiatives extend to various tourist resources, such as the Palau Altea, the old town and the coastal façade, which have improvements in accessibility for all.
